Where's the Project Guide

Naomin

Under Options, Interface, it says I can use my own Project Guide instead of
MS's. Where is that?
thanks.

Hello Naomi,

You would need to create a custom Project guide in order to use it.
The default project guide is the pane that opens on the left side of
the screen when you use one of the buttons on the Project Guide
toolbar (Task, Resources, Track, Report.)

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Yes, I believe custom project guides require programming. Assuming
you are using Project 2003, there are a series of articles named
"Project Guide 101" which are included in the help file
pj11ProjectGuide101.chm that is installed with Project.

The Microsoft download center also has additional information. Try
searching the download center for Project Guide and I believe it will
take you to a download containing sample code.

I'm afraid I can't give much more information on the "how-to" side as
I am not a programmer. If you are interested in pursuing further
details, try posting to the project developer newsgroup.

I hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

You're welcome Naomi and thanks for the feedback. I'm not a
programmer either so I have just contented myself with the default
project guide in the very rare times I even have it turned on to look
at.
