Which is more recent, Outlook 6 or 2003?

Just got my first PC. It came with XP Home and included Outlook Express 6.
Then I installed my student copy of Office 2003. I now get Outlook 2003.
Which is the more recent release? The better program?

Thanks for your help.

Outlook Express 6 is a free email and newsgroup client included with
Internet Explorer.
Outlook 2003 is not free. Outlook 2003 offers the same email support as
Outlook Express 6, but does not support newsgroups. In addition, Outlook
2003 is not just an email client, but rather a full-fledged personal
information manager which allows you to keep a calendar, contacts, notes
and tasks.
If you just want a bare-bones email client, Outlook Express is fine. If
you want more, use Outlook.
Despite the similarity in name, they are two completely different
products.

And yet for my use, Outlook Express is the better program. I don't need a
calendar but I want the newsgroups and three of my email addies all in one
convenient window.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. :)
