No difference to the SE but users that don't know your web site but know your brand will assume a .com TLD, e.g, if looking for Sony
I'm sure not going to go looking for sony.biz.

John,
As MVP Mike said, the search engines don't care and
people try .com first if they don't know. From my own
experience, the key to google is the quantity and quality of
links to your site. With less than 1200 visitors since I
launched the site last June, that particular site has a page
rank of 4. The best site linking to mine has a rank of 5.
Google has only provided 12 referrals in that time.

There have been suggestions in some of the forums that it may make a
difference in regional search engines, such as google.au, where .com
addresses may rank less well that .com.au addresses...

As always with information from forums, take this FWIW.
