which smartphone for Outlook synchronization?

My Samsung BlackJack II is flaking out, and of course the warranty
expired two months ago ....

I need a combination of good cellphone AND good to excellent
synchronization with Outlook for calendar, contacts, and TO DO.
Wireless data is not something I use right now, because I can't
justify the expense. With the BlackJack, I can sync up easily with a
USB plug-in cable.

What's hot and what's not?

I've heard from several people that the iPhone is not a good phone,
whatever its other plusses.

I should also mention that my carrier is AT&T. Thanks.

Try posting to (and look through the history for previous discussions)
microsoft.public.smartphone to see what people are recommending. You can
also use blogs to see what is hot and what is not.

Personally, I prefer the T-Mobile Dash and am considering upgrading to the
Dash 3G since my contract expired last year. YMMV

Since you're with AT&T, check out the Samsung Jack. It's a great phone! I've
been using one for the past month or so, and have zero complaints.

Jason,

Thanks. My current phone is a BlackJack II, and it went bad on me
about 4 months out of warranty. When I got my phone, and the CD was
bad, I called support, and their response was, "Oh, you don't really
need the CD anyway." That's cheesy.

And, I have two Samsung DVD players. One works fine and other other
has problems with many DVDs, especially from NetFlix. And my Samsung
printer was a lot cheaper than the HP equivalent, ok WAS cheaper. Then
it has needed two trips to service, both out of warranty, erasing any
cost savings and then some. And the plug-in memory is a proprietary
part from Samsung, at some ridiculous price.

Do you see a pattern here? I'm not exactly thrilled with Samsung
products. Poor reliability. And last month, when I was shopping for
an LCD TV, the samsung unit looked very price-competitive, but then I
read some negative reviews. I ended up paying about $100 more for a
Sony unit, knowing that it will be reliable for the long haul.
