White flash between pages

When uploaded, there is a "white space" transitioning to pages that have
tables. The page sizes tend to be about 8K to 15K. The background of the
pages is black. Doesn't occur when browsing from the files on the computer.

I'm using frames, but smaller pages don't cause the "flash" during
transition between pages in the same frame.

Any thoughts?

The white flash is the default background in IE shown while a downloaded
page renders.
(In Netscape 4 the flash would be grey.)

There is nothing you can do about this, other than change the colour scheme,
or change from using frames - however in this case the flash would affect
the whole browser window.
