white screen on imported movies?

I have created tons of mpegs and wmvs and imported them
all over ten different presentations.

Some files are local and some are stored over a network.

I am having the derndest time with this.

When I play the slide some times teh file plays just
fine,k and sometimes I get this weird white screen after
the first frame...

I thought the path names were bad, adn they were on some,
but on some that I reimport they work in some projects and
not in others...

When I open teh files outside in windows media player they
all without exception play fine.

this happens with one slide presentations or with 200
slide presentations adn is very unpredictable.

Has anyone had similar issues? And what could be the cause
of the dreaded white screen of death?

The presentation file is on the network also. I set up and
import all movies and it works fine. then i copy the files
to another drive and relink everything and it does not
work?? very weird...the pack and go option seemed to work
fine with teh presentations that worked fine???

How long are those paths, and how long are the file names? Lots of
characters?

I wonder if it might all work better if you put everything in a folder
on your C:\ drive.

Just a thought.
