Whose Footer in my Webpages?

B

BoomM3

My web site (hosted by an ISP) has 'extra' code after my footers. This
code is designed for Bots or search engines. Example:
<!--mstheme--></font></td></tr><!--msnavigation--></table><STYLE
TYPE='text/css'>
href='http://www.loansrank.org'>search loans - loan guide - loan news

This goes on for many lines and has a number of different addresses
included. The code is not visible on my page but I can not remove it.

The ISP either doesn't recognize the problem or refuses to fix the
problem. Any suggestion for how to remove this code?

The site is www.scbps.org and if you look at the source code on any
page, you will see these ads at the bottom of the page.

Any suggestions...Please.

I believe you need this code to make your navigation work, since it looks
like you are using FrontPage Navigation mechanisms.

did you try: deleting the text and see what happens?; Making a new blank
page and looking at the source code before and after you published it to the
site?;

This does not look like legitimate links to me, or at least I see many that
are not relevant to your site.

Sorry I was not clear - This is NOT my code! It does not exist in FP
prior to publishing the Web site. Also, if I look at the code on the
site (with FTP), the code is not there.

This code only appears at browse time! I don't have any include
statements - so where does it come from?

Peter: I would surmise it is being sneakily added by the host, unless the
server is infected with something.

What is the name of the host, and the URL to their web site?

I agree with you, Rob.

Source with the html from within FP HTML View, the code appears different.

I'll be 2 euro that it's a free (or low cost) host thats adding stuff.

Peter:

First, I would review the agreement you have with them to see if there is
anything in their regarding them placing information into your web site.

I would also contact them and insist that they explain why that information
is being added to your web site since you are not able to have any control
over it.

I would strongly recommend changing hosts.
