Why are all my Word docs are changing to Wordpad?

does anyone have any suggestions as to how to fox this?

Have you tried reregistering Word? Click Start | Run and type

winword /r

Note that there is a space before the forward slash.

In Windows explorer, right click on the document. Select
open with and see if it's associated with wordpad instead
of word. There's a check box at the bottom to set this
globally.
