Why are my images showing as small red X's?

Sorry for the empty post...
This is my first visit. I just recently had our company website unloaded on me, and have no previous experience. I am not doing bad for someone learning as I go, but I have come across one HUGE problem. The main purpose of the website is to showcase our current inventory for potential customers, but when I insert an image, it only displays a small red X. I thought it would be okay because if I switch to preview, the picture displays correctly. I just was browsing the site though & it is only displaying the red X's. Please help!!! I need to figure this out ASAP because this is essential for our customers. I appreciate your time!

With your local web open, did you File | Import the images into your web
before inserting on a page and saving?

I tried importing and had problems with it getting stuck for long periods. Actually, I wasn't aware that importing was a 'must do', is that what I've been doing wrong? ; > ~~ It really is the most obvious thing that ends up being the solution, hm?

you have to import the image files before inserting them in Frontpage. (File
menu > Import) then choose the file/s or folder/s you want to import. Then
choose from Insert Menu > Picture from file and go from there.

Make sure you upload the images in the same directory structure as they are on
your hard drive of your PC. If you use the publish feature in frontpage - this
won't be a problem since it uploads everything in the correct order anyway.
