Why are my messages being delivered twice?

Each time i send a message the recipient recevies it twice - i have not
changed any of my settings and the message only appears once in my sent box.
Please Help!

Are you scanning outgoing messages with an antivirus scanner? If so, try
disabling that feature.

Hi ,

well it seems i have a same problem but i still don't get it exactly.let me
explain :
i use gmail account and i use IMAP setting in order to organize my emails
directly from outlook for my email acount .and when i push the send key ,then
2 messages appear in my sent box in the outlook even on the site which
definitly means the reciever will get 2 emails of me.so can you help me in
this case?

ps)i tried the outgoing message setting on my norton internet security.it
didn't work.

Do you have a rule defined that moves a copy of your outgoing messages?

NEW: Well frankly i didn't define anything on outlook express.so if there
is menu or something which i can change please do tell .or any suggestion
would be appreciated(that shows how i'm tired of it ;) ).thanks

You're in the wrong newsgroup if you're asking an Outlook Express question.
This newsgroup is for Office Outlook. Ask OE questions in
microsoft.public.outlookexpress.general.
