why are saved files in green font?

When I save new files, they are showing up with a green font, and if I send
them to another person, that person cannot open them. I looked in the
security, there is no lock on the documents.

The green files are encrypted, you will have to de-encrypt them.

In addition, could you have saved the file to a folder which is set to have
all files contained encrypted. If you dont wish it to be encrypted then save
the file elsewhere or follow suggestions provided by GreenieLebrun regarding
decrypting or encryption procedures.
