Why can i not delete cells in my workbook?

I am trying to do a monthly update on a spreadsheet that i keep. For some
reason this time it will not let me delete cells. I.e normally i would right
click, select delete then select shift cells up right etc. The only option
that it is giving me is delete row which i do not want to do. All other
workbooks etc are working fine its just this one that seems to of gone a bit
nuts. I've checked to make sure its not some been set up as shared work book
which it is not and i've un-hidden all collumns and rows, now i'm stuck for
ideas as to what is preventing me from doing this. Please help. Thanks

Try this

Go to tools | customize | command tab | categories : edit | Commands |
delete option
drag it to toolbar ...

If there was a problem with Delete being removed it would occur on all
workbooks.

Thanks for the responce guy's. I've managed to sort it, there was stealthy
filter on that had escaped my notice. Couldnt see the Wood for trees type
scenario. Stupid boy, lol.
