Why can I not use ipod songs for my presentations?

I want a song to play through my powerpoint slideshow but the format of the
song is IPOd and powerpoint will not accept it. Any ideas?

I don't think your problem is with PowerPoint or with your iPod. You're
probably referring to music files that you have purchased from iTunes which are
encrypted with protection to prevent distribution. PowerPoint plays MP3s and
your iPod plays MP3s. You can also store MP3s in your iTunes library. However,
anything that you purchase from iTunes arrives and is stored as an M4P.

To convert to an MP3 you will have to save the M4P music file(s) to a CD and
then "rip" them back to your hard disk as MP3s.

Why is it Mac specific? Works the same on a PC. And what about downloaded
tunes from the iTune store. They arrive as M4Ps. PowerPoint won't accept them.
They must be burned to a CD in iTunes and then ripped to MP3 or WAV.
