Why can't cached mode be enabled on a Terminal Server?

Hi,
It is obvious from the various posts that terminal services disables
cached exchange mode in outlook. I was not able to determine the
reason why.

It is rather frustrating. I'm on a TS and the exchange server is on
the other side of a fairly slow DSL line. When using cached mode
outlook is quite pleasent. Without it, however, there are constant
hangs and frozen windows. :(
