We need to modify the names of a whole range of enterprise resources. To do
this we figured that it would be best to open the enterprise resources that
required their names to be changed from Office professional, assuming that we
would be able to change the name (just like it is the case with most other
attributes) in the list view, without the need of opening a detail form for
each resource. However we found out that the display name seems to be an
attribute that cannot be modified ... at least not when you try to modify
this attribute from Project Professional like we tried. However, we noticed
that the name can be changed when you go through the PWA. Unfortunately
enough you have to iterate the list by opening the detail form.
Can anyone give us a decent explanation why this is? Why can you change the
name in the PWA and why is it locked when you go through the project
professional?
