Why can't I create new word documents?

My mcirosoft word 2003 documents are locked from new blank documents being
created. How do I unlock this feature?

Are you using a trial version which has now expired? Are you using an OEM
or retail version? If a trial version,you must convert it to a full
version by purchasing a key or getting a full retail version. If an OEM
or Retail version, possibly you now have to activate it. See the Help
system.

I have tried all of these options, but the sytem still does not change.The
sytem seems to have locked me out of creating new documents.
