why can't I download email attachments

I am using Windows XP Standard 2002. Have done all updates. When trying to
open an email attachment the file will open but will never finish
downloading, will continue for hours. Does anyone know what the problem
might be?

You should really ask this in a forum for your e-mail program - this one is
for questions about Microsoft Access, their database product.
