Why cant I load saved file since i installes the technial refresh

Sice I installed the beta 2 technical refresh I have been unable to load any
of my Microsoft Office saved files. Why does this happen and what can I do to
fix this?

Someone posted the following answer to a similar question:

If you are using Symantec/Norton AntiVirus, try disabling the
Office Plugin that comes with it (but don't disable Norton
AutoProtect). See http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=329820 "How
