Why can't I print powerpoint to pdf without losing my edges?

when i try and save my powerpoint to a pdf to reduce the file size and stop
clients messing with the presentation, it crops the edges. how do i set it
up to avoid this? i have tried changing the page set up to a4, but that came
out worse.

Did you try checking the box to "scale to fit page" in File|Print?
