Why can't I save an updated meeting request?

I just installed Office 2007.

First, Outlook tends to make everything a recurring appointment. I followed
the other link and there is no Dell Media Manager addin that I can see.

The bigger problem is that when I try to open and change the meeting from
recurring to singular or if I update any of the information after the meetins
is past, there is no way for me to save and close the appointment without
sending it to the other invitees on the meeting request.

Outlook help says there is a save and close function but I have yet to find
it. I always include notes after a meeting but in 2007 I cannot change the
appointment and save it?

How do I get past this?

What brand computer do you have? Desktop or laptop?
do you have the live search maps addin installed? Any other addins
installed? The map addin will affect the ability to save changed meetings,
others may also.
Did you install the cumulative update?
