Why can't I see my figures on my word document on the screen?

I have hp media center PC and the operating system is windows XP (service
Pack 2). I am using office XP 2000. When I inclued any figures in my
document, I don't see the figures on screen but when I print it out figure
comes OK. When I reduce the windows resolution according to the instruction
given by Microsoft technical support I see the figures on the screen but
media center dosen't run at all. Please help me to solve this problem. Thanks
in advance.

Might consider an updated video driver. Go to the manufacturer's web page and look
around.
