Why can't you change a Visio shape like you can in other MS progra

Once I have chosen a shape and put it on my sheet, why can't I change the
shape, say from a Process to a Document? I can only fill, shadow, round
corners etc.

Hi Sheila,
you could try our utilities that can do a shape substitute.
http://www.visio-utilities.sandrila.co.uk/

It'll swap one shape for another but keep all the size, text, shadow,
properties etc (you can choose which to keep)
