Why did font change?

T

I have a file that I am using the Catalog Merge. I set the file up the way I
want it to look with Arial type, everthing is perfect. I merge the document
and preview, everthing is perfect. I even check embed fonts.

Problem!

When I merge to a new publication, everthing is NOT Perfect. Font changes
to Times Roman. I have tried everything to get it to work and about ready to
pull out the few remaining hairs I have left on my head because I am so
frustrated.

Can anyone help me!

Thank you in advance.

How are you changing the font?
Try as I may I cannot duplicate your issue. There has been some issues with
Arial Black, but not Arial.

I create the document, and use merge fields / catalog merge. I highlight the
field and change the font. I also through the tools make sure that the font
is downloaded with the document by checking the proper box. But when I merge
it to a new document all my formatting disappears. If I leave the document
and just preview it, it looks fine.

I need to merge to a new document because there are some items that I have
to tweak, before sending. Other wise I would just leave it in the first
stage.

Don't know if I am making myself clear or not.

You seem to be mucking about in the Commercial Printing settings. What happens
if you return those setting back to default? You shouldn't have to worry about
embedding unless you are sending the merge to a PDF.

Even if I don't muck about in the commercial printing settings, I still get
the same results.

Confused as to why my font is changing from Arial to Times Roman after the
merge is completed and merged to a new document.

It just does not make sense to me.

I have tried to change to a different font, and I didn't have a problem with
that one. But, that is not the font I want to use.????

Do you have built in fonts in your printer? Is your printer driver current? I
have looked at many support documents and cannot find a reason for your issue.
Most font problems can be attributed to poorly constructed fonts or corrupt
files or printer problems. Arial is built in all Microsoft products. You can
re-install Arial, it couldn't hurt.

If it is a printer font, how would I go about fixing that problem. I can try
to re-install Arial to my hard drive too.

Printer fonts can be disabled in the printer driver. Look at your documentation.

I am thinking it has something to do with the way we have the font downloaded
on our server.

You confirmed my suspicions, now I have to find the right person to fix it,
as I am sure I don't have access to that. So yes, you did help.
