Why did my system suddenly slow way down using Office

Outlook has never run well on my computer. I use a Dell 1510 with 2GB of Ram
and the Centrino Duo processor. Lately, when I key in info the
letters/numbers I key do not appear on the screen for as much as ten seconds.
To further frustrate me, the other Office 2003 programs no longer respond
quickly. All of these worked well and quickly until recently (except
Outlook). I have tried reloading all software, running the repair and
reinstall options and resetting my virus and other protection software. I run
Trend Micro PC-cillin.

pst file ?

How does one run teh scanpst? I recall now that this outlook file getting
full was a problem in the past...if one archives, doesn't that clean up the
pst file?

open the run command from the start icon and type:

"C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\SYSTEM\MSMAPI\1033\SCANPST.EXE"

Excluding the quotes, the path should be the same, failing that search for
scanpst.exe.

From here select your pst file and click scan.

Ensure Outlook is closed wwhen you try this. Restart and hopefully that'll
sort it.

Cheers,

kev
