why didnt i get powerpoint in my basic office 2003?

When i ordered my new computer I payed for microsoft office4 2003. I need it
for school. When i spoke with the person from dell they told me everything I
need is on it, now i find out it isnt. I have to go purchase powerpoint which
was the main program I need. why isnt powerpoint included in 2003?

Just to be confusing (or more likely, to maximize profits), Microsoft has
several different versions of Office. They each come with different
applications. Some include PowerPoint and some don't. For more information
see "Which version of Office 2003 is right for me?" from the PPT FAQ:

Since you are a student, you might want to look into Academic Pricing so you
don't have to pay too much for PowerPoint.
