Why do black boxes flash as I drag my cursor throughout the screen?

Hello.

This is very annoying. I have Win2000 professional and using
MSWord2000.

It's a regular word document, no fancy graphics, all text, 8 pages
long. doesn't happen in every document, but it happens in all the
views of this document.

I really don't think it's an optical illusion.

Thanks, New

Sounds like you either need an updated graphics driver or a new graphics
card.

I encountered the same problem after I installed XP. I
forgot to reinstall my new graphics card drivers.

Good point! Many of the third party drivers in XP are betas - particularly
graphics drivers - and need updating with drivers from the manufacturer.
