Why do fractions appear smaller than whole numbers?

When I type whole numbers with fractions the fraction is printed in a smaller
font than the whole number. How do I keep all the numbers the same size?

In Word, click on Tools | AutoCorrect Options | AutoFormat As You
Type | uncheck the "Fractions with fraction character" box | OK.
