Why do I get a result that looks like this? 298023E-09

I am using the xirr function and I get a result of 298023E-09. Why and what
does it mean?

It represents the number .00000000298023. Set your format to Number with
decimals out to 15.

It's a very large number and probably being generated because you gave xirr
incorrect data. Post your formula and data

Actually, it's slightly smaller than very large number, as far as value very
close to zero is not large :)

One more remark: previous suggestion works only when changing source data,
not when adding new data which then have to be pivoted. To pivot new adds u
have to go back to pivot wizard and expand the source area (clicking on back
button in wizard).
