why do I get duplicates of some e-mails?

i get duplicates of many e-mails, not all from the same sender. I have
windows XP and Office/Outlook 2003. my default mail account is a POP account.

Do you have more than a single POP account? Do you receive duplicates of
all your mail, or just some of it? Do you receive duplicate messages in a
single send/receive?
