Why do i get "file permission error" when saving a word document

Every time I try to save a document to my thunb drive I get a message saying
"word cannot save this document due to file permission error". I have tries
changing the name of the document to no avail.

You know, by working directly from removable media, you're really just
asking for a corrupt file. It's best to save to your hard drive and then
copy the file from there to your removable disk (thumb drive, in your case).
