I'm not sure about FP but in Dreamweaver, you sometimes get this if you are
developing on a Windows (or Mac) box, and hosting on a *nix server, and have
not properly set your line break format. They all use different formats for
the "new line" carriage return. As a consequence, each time you up- or
download, the required translation from one format to another does not
occur, and this results in lots of blank lines being inserted in the code.

Might that be the case with you? I know you are developing on Windows, but
are you hosting on *nix?

If you're really careful, you can use the find / replace in the code. Open
one of the pages in code view and look for a series of <br><br>.
Advise you backup your site first.

Yes it was. I followed the guide lines at the end of this page and pfoned
Microsoft Sweden for help removing the duplicates, but (as usually) no one
could help and I was "circulating around" at the Swedish office without
anyone able to help me. In fact - no one knew who'm to send me to.

When I wrote my reply and tryed to send it I was getting a error message
telling me that the reply wasn't sent. I was adviced to try again.

Try opening a page in code view and right clicking for reformat html
- unfortunately you need to do it for each page

Strange that the problem only seems to appear in the English pages not the Swedish ones

Sorry but I must come back to this issue again.
One of the advantages with Microsoft is the possibility to interact and
cross using for instance the Office package.
Now, I often write long texts in Word, using the formatting facility,
references and so on. So far I have either saved this documents as doc- and
htm-format, imported the htm-files to FrontPage and put them up in the
in-built navigation menu (look at www.whiplashinfo.se). Simple and
convenient.
The other way has been to copy and paste texts from Word to FrontPage. But –
I found that by doing this, the text is surrounded by a frame, and the
navigation menu doesn’t show up. The only way to solve this trouble with
losing the navigation menu has been to copy all the text, but leave out the
last formatting carry return.
The hundreds and thousands of empty lines - all without any visible code at
all – continue to trouble me.

Copy and paste special, or copy and paste into Notepad and then copy and
paste in to the FrontPage web page.

The best way to bring a Word file into FP is to drag the .doc file from
Windows Explorer onto an open page in FP. That way, you can keep all your
text formatting and you won't get emplty lines or extra coding. Do not
convert the file to html using Word. That won't work as well.

You certainly will get a lot of extra code when you do like this.
