I am using frontpage2000 to create a website. When I publish it to my hosting
service i get a red cross instead of the pictures. When I preview in browser
I get the picture. Any ideas??

It means that the picture doesn't exist in the web or is pointing
incorrectly.
Most likely you didn't point to a picture within the web.
Place the picture in your web (images folder would be nice) and hyperlink to
it there instead of somewhere else on your HD (like My Pictures)

You will most likely find out that by right clicking on the
red x and choosing properties that the location is still on
the c-drive. If this is the case, reopen the wbe in FP,
import and reinset the images, and republish

It's a sign that you should donate money to the American Red Cross.

By an chance is there some sort of "hot link protection" enabled on the images folder??
If so remove it and then check.

Both the image and the link are pointing 1 level above your root web at http://www.kentishmatch.co.uk
- not possible unless it is a subdomain as a subweb

You have
<h1 align="center"><map name="FPMap0">
<area href="../www/windex.htm" shape="rect" coords="59, 27, 354, 243"></map><img border="0" src="../images/IMG_0400.JPG" width="390"
height="261" usemap="#FPMap0"></h1>

The ../ path means look 1 level above the current page

Open your local web (not just the page) and & File Import your image (and all pages) into your FP web, then create a link to it w/i
your web

mmmmm "if" you have checked your web on your personal pc and your images are
present in either your base folder or the image folder, then using FP to
publish the web they will show up in your web site. ( note you can force an
upload, by right clicking on file name, in the left side window and selecting
publish, when the publish window is open, must be connected to the web) BUT
maybe the simple things are conflicting... first go to internet options on
your pc and clear temp directory (including offline files) then reboot ( just
to clear your memory on your pc) lack of memory (either actual or virtual)
will inhibit download of images from any website. (check hard disk space, you
got enough free ? for virtual memory) if memory is the problem... right
clicking on the red X will bring up a window menu, select view picture.
(proves it is there).
