I had the same problem and the Microsoft Instructions for Vista did
not work because I could not get a screen that allowed me to run the
program as an administrator. I solved it as follows; I clicked on
the START icon, then COMPUTER, then LOCAL DISC C, then PROGRAM FILES,
then MICROSOFT OFFICE (actually I used a different folder, but most
people would use Microsoft Office), then on Office11 (I was using
2003, which files itself in Office11 - I also have 2007 on my
computer, and it filed itself in Office12). Only then was I able to
right click on the Excel file. When I did so, the drop down menu
FINALLY showed the option of running as an adminstrator, which I did.
I got the USER AGREEMENT, clicked on ACCEPT, and closed the program.
It now functions perfectly without showing me the user agreement every
time I load it.
Now if I could only get Word 2007 to stop showing me the 'configuring
system' screen...the Microsoft help site solution to this did not work
either. I will figure it out in time...I hope...
Good luck.
