Why do my graphics not show on screen?

In all the Office programmes, graphics & pictures can't be seen in working
mode, only in Read View or View Presentation. This is incredibly annoying
when trying to position graphics. Why does this happen & how can I stop it?
All help greatly appreciated. Please mail: [email protected]
, thanks.

In which Office programs does it occur? What are the names of the specific
views where it does or does not occur? Is it always the same type of
graphic? Is it all documents or just certain ones?

In Word 2003, there is an option (under Tools menu) in the View tab called
Picture Placholders which does "blank out" graphics - they can be seen in
print preview but none of the layout modes. But I doubt if this option is the
cause.

Could it be memory problem? Or an installation in need of repair? (See Help
menu, Detect and Repair for the latter option - you may need your disks.)

Hi again.

It happens in Word - Print view (which I usually work in) & Normal view. I
tried the picture placeholder thing & it didn't work. It also happens in
Slide view in Powerpoint but the graphics show up in slide sorter & when the
presentation is viewed.

I have tried to 'repair' the installation & I doubt if memory is a problem
since I have 1GB of RAM. It happened before & then seemed to fix itself (I
think it was the picture placeholder thing then) but now... nada so all help
very greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Kath
