Why do my Outlook 2003 rules to move messages create multiple cop.

I have just upgraded to Outlook 2003. I have multiple rules to move messages
to various folders based on the sender and other information. I have the
rules ordered based on the which I would like to apply first. However, I end
up with multiple copies of new messages that satisfy more than one rule. I
expected that the first rule that applies should move the new message such
that no other rule will be applied to it.

I didn't have this problem with Outlook 2000.

You must add the action "stop processing rules" to your rules.
