Why does Auto Text not work sometimes and work other times?

I use a LOT of Auto Text Inserts. Sometimes I get too many of the same
(example) "Roberts" so I have to be creative. Other times, like yesterday
and today, my standard auto text entries will not work for some reason. I
cold booted and that sometimes will fix the problem, but not today, any
suggestions.
