Why does data exported to Excel from Access, show totals as 0.5 t.

I tried to export data into Excel from Access.
If the total price shows up as $ 10,000 in Access Database table.
The same data when exported into excel shows as $15,000.
How can fix the problem???

From the surface of this it appears to be a rounding error somewhere? Is
that possible? I move data from Access - Excel (rarely the reverse) and have
never had any problem like that. If its not rounding per se it has to be a
data definition mismatch.
