why does ldap directory box appear opening outlook 2003?

When I open Outlook 2003, a box appears with the title "Microsoft LDAP
Directory"

Inside the box, a tab marked "Connection Details" with the following fields:

Server Name
Port
User Name
Password

Use Secure Password Authentication (SPA)

How can I prevent the box appearing every time I start outlook? and what
causes it?

Thanks,

John

Most likely you upgraded or imported account settings from Outlook Express.
You can remove the ldap address book provider by starting Microsoft Outlook
and selecting Tools | Email Accounts | View/Change existing directories and
address books and remove the entry for Active Directory/LDAP.

Thanks for the answers guys, I don't even know what an LDAP is. :)

I'm going to try your suggestions now.

If you don't use an LDAP, then remove it from your profile.
You should be using the Outlook Address Book, not an LDAP.
