Why does MS Word go to imaging recgonition when I try to print?

When I try to print a document that I have created in Word (2003) it prompts
me to save the document. The only format it will allow me to save it in is MS
Imaging Format (*.mdi).
Why is this happening? I do not want to save this document, I only want to
print it. How do I correct this problem?

Make sure in your printer dialog box the checkmark is removed from "print to
file" you can't merely hit the printer icon to get to this dialog box. You
must go in under File-Print and then make sure the checkmark is removed.

Another possibility is that your default printer isn't the one that
you actually want. Go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. Make
sure that the printer you want to use has a check mark next to it. If
it doesn't, right-click on it and choose Set as Default printer.
