why does my email addresses get displayed in different formats

why does my email addresses get displayed in different formats?
on some contacts it is as there email address, in others it has there name
with an underline

I don't know what you mean - are you talking about the display name in one
of your contacts when you open it?
Please provide more detail. Also include your version/mode/SP level of
Outlook whenever posting in here (help | about)

Each version of Outlook has used a different format for constructing the
Email Display As field.
