why does my screen flicker during powerpoint slideshows

I am using Powerpoint in MS XP on a NEC MultiSync E900+ monitor. While
working on my presentation everything workes just fine. But when I do the PP
presentation on full screen I see the screen flicker, as if the refresh rate
of the screen is too low. Does anyone recognise this problem or does anyone
know how to solve this?
