It is not downloading all the messages, just some of them. It's not
consistent, but it seems to be newer messages, not older ones - just the last
several hours or day. I have 4 POP accounts (and no other kind) and I
separated them into different groups. That didn't help, but it seemed to for
a day. Then after a while it started downloading dups again. Once it decides
to download a message more than once, it does it for the next few times of
starting outlook, then stops when I delete all but one message. It's very
unlikely to be the email servers because this never happens with outlook
2000, and there are more than one.
VENT: In the time since I wrote this message, I've seen many other posts for
the same problem. Has this not been fixed? How could it be broken in the
first place? This is a fundamental problem that makes the software unusable.
Don't we get enough SPAM without having the client create more?
