why does save as cause the program to not respond?

Two days ago when I did "save as" the machine did nothing, then gave me a
"not responding " error. When I click on end now, the whole application shuts
down, and I lose the file. Have sent error reports to microsoft; no response.
Have reloaded all the office software, same problem. Happens in word, excel,
haven't tried ppt yet. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Open My Computer, right-click on any and all drives that are Unavailable
and then select Disconnect for them.

I have the same problem. I am running Word 2007 and Vista. There are no
unavailable drives to disconnect.
