Why does the cursor disappear when I'm typing fast for awhile?

I'm transcribing and can type very fast without looking at the keys.
However, when I do look up, I find the cursor is not on the screen and
whatever I've typed has stopped printing on the screen. I have to click the
cursor back onto the page and then start typing, while stopping to check
every sentence or so. HELP!!

Hi sandy,

This sounds like there is some incompatibility between Word and your screen
driver.

I'd suggest you check the Microsoft web site to see if there are any service
packs for Word you can download and install. In addition I suggest you go to
the website of the manufacturer of your video card and see if an updated
driver is available. if it is, download and install it.

I tested it in WORD and it worked fine...I typed much longer than normal and
it didn't bounce...but when I was typing an email it disappeared after only
about 10 words...so I went back to WORD and typed non-stop for about 4
sentences and POOF it disappeared...so I clicked onto the page and started
typing again and this time it went for about 15 lines before it would POOF
and disappear...there does not seem to be ANY set pattern about WHEN it goes
away and it doesn't "go" to another location...still need advice...

Do please realise that you have posted into a Word group, and if your
problem is not primarily about Wpord then we may not be able to help here.

Have you done what I originally suggested and updated your video driver
software?

Yes, I did update the video driver and in fact had to download something
overnight in order to update everything ...(I have dialup!)...anyways, my
mistake about the WORD posting and not focusing on another list...I only was
focused on it for WORD as that's when we seemed to notice the pure
frustration...will locate another board now as it does happen thru out the
computer time whether email or WORD...however, you brought up an excellant
solution that otherwise I would not have thought of AND it may still be a
mere tweaking of that new driver "preferences" so I do thank you for the
suggestion to UPDATE...

I am having the same problem. The cursor disappears and my print is not
available. It happens in all my office programs. I have tried to reload my
software and to detect and repair, nothing has worked. Help Me.

I GOT IT FIXED! A really weird solution...I finally went to my Internet
provider, Earthlink...and within minutes they knew exactly what my complaint
was and had me fix it. There is something to do with their Taskbar and I
can't run it a certain way...anyways...they walked me thru the fix so I'd
advise you to call your Internet Server and ask them!! Give them specific
details because I didn't realize it was only happening when I was online
because I multi-task etc. Have your info ready when you call and I hope you
get an answer!! -SANDYMENTO
