I have been using access for 4 years now
I can't access my database because
of a Microsoft Jet engine error.
What do I need to do
Can you access _any_ Jet database? (For example, a copy of the backup of
your database.)
If you can, then this database is likely corrupted, so you should try
Compact and Repair... opening Access without a database supplied. If that is
unable to fix it, then you will have to revert to your latest backup copy.
If you haven't made backups, then you have learned a hard lesson about the
advisability of doing so.
If you cannot open the copy of the backup or other Access database, then you
likely have had some error that corrupted the Jet engine or an associated
..DLL, and will need to get out your installation CD and try first to repair,
but perhaps you will need to reinstall.
In either case, you should then obtain and apply all the service packs and
patches. For Access 2000 and later, you can do that through the Office
Update link in Windows Update.
