Why does the Office Clipboard suddenly stop working?

Has anyone encountered this problem? The Office Clipboard functions fine,
then suddenly the copied items will no longer paste into Access.

I did have that problem from time to time in several Office programs earlier
in the life of Office 2003. When it happened, I found that it could be fixed
by rebooting. By keeping Office up to date (Help - Check for Updates),
however, I have not seen that problem recently.
