Why does the Publisher to PDF conversion change the formatting??

HELP! I made a brochure in Publisher 2003. Looks great. I want to
print and fold. But, I'm finding most print shops won't take a
Publisher file - PDF only. I've tried to convert my Publisher file to
PDF (from the Adobe website) but each time I do, something in the
formatting changes - paragraphs adjust or drop off; fold alignment is
off. I'm opting for the "Print" optimization choice thinking that
that's appropriate. Not sure. I'm a layman trying to play graphic
designer and sure could use some advice. Thanks.

Why don't you just download something like PrimoPDF from www.primopdf.com?
I've never used the Adobe online function because I have Acrobat but I'd
much rather have something on my system just incase I need to tweak
settings.
