Why does the right side of my microsoft word picture disappear?

When I create a very wide picture with many objects in "Microsoft Word
Picture", some of the objects on the right side of the picture disappear.
That is, when I am in the picture editor, I can see all the boxes, lines,
text, etc. When I close the editor and return to MS word, some (not all!) of
those objects disappear.

Why is this happening?

P.S. I know that my objects are _not_ off the right edge of the viewing area
since I click on "reset picture boundary" before returning to Word.

Maybe this only happens to people named James, as I have the same problem
