Why does Visio's My Shapes folder have a system attribute?

The Visio application's 'My Shapes' folder has a system attribute. This is
odd and frustrating since its location at '\My Documents\My Shapes' makes it
a candidate for backup by most backup software and because as a system folder
it cannot be backed up.
In fact for a variety of backup software a folder with the system attribute
can cause unpredictable behavior as 'My Webs' causes our software.

My question is this: "Why does Visio's My Shapes folder have a system
attribute?"

If you dont like it, yo can change the file path with dialog dispyed by the
menu option.
That is a possible workaround, June, however, it doesn't help users
attempting to backup My Shapes Visio content and it doesn't answer my
original question.

Why does Visio's My Shapes folder have a system attribute?

Can an answer be provided by a Visio developer or product manager experienced
with the product's inner workings? I could also call someone for the answer
if someone would provide me with a Visio technical support telephone number.
