Why Does Word 2000 Try to Install at Certain Websites?

When I go to certain websites, I start getting messages that Word 2000 is
trying to install. I then have to click Cancel 2 or 3 times to stop it. So
far it happens on one or two news websites. What kind of a bug is that? What
is the problem involved? Thanks.

No, not yet. But I do use Norton Internet Security. Try also
www.jpost.com. In both cases the same adserver.com pops up EVEN with
my popup stopper in NIS enabled. In any case, what does it mean that
Word starts to try to install there?

I have never heard of this, and I've heard of everything in Word. If I were
you (and this is probably the first time I've ever told anyone to do this to
troubleshoot Word), I'd be running a spyware checker like LavaSoft's AdAware
or something, and I'd be doing it now.

I have done a spyware scan twice, and the problem with those websites
still exists. It must have something to do with the popup ad that
says: z1.adserver.com/w/cp.x
